Continuing my play with
symbols of contrasting
meaning, this drawing
uses black and white
chess board squares as
a base for symbols and
images with reverse
associations. I'm
intrigued by how a
5-pointed star pointing up
can symbolize life and
positive power, while the
same star in red with
point down can represent
a diametrically opposed
concept. And how
amazing that images with
strong meanings today
(like the swastika) often
had very different
associations for previous
cultures.
